Bagaimana cara mempersiapkan ujian menyimak TOEFL?

Ujian menyimak TOEFL memakai bahasa Inggris akademis.

Kenapa orang mengikuti TOEFL?

Berikut beberapa contoh nyata beserta sumbernya:

Sekolah pascasarjana, syarat minimum umum (AS)

Harvard (Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences)

Band iBT 80 ≈ band 4

Sarjana (Kanada)

University of Toronto

Band band 4.5 (old iBT 89)

Sarjana, kompetitif (AS)

UC Berkeley

Band iBT 90, shown as band 4.5

Pascasarjana STEM, kompetitif (AS)

MIT (Teknik Mesin)

Band iBT 100 ≈ band 5

Setiap klip hanya diputar sekali.

Berdasarkan riset

Nation (2006) About 3,000 common word families cover roughly 95% of everyday spoken English; reading needs far more.

Webb (2021) The most frequent 1,000 words alone cover most of what people say in speech.

Durbahn et al. (2024) Video is easier to understand at a given vocabulary size, because the pictures help you guess.
